Obey and Serve

In this country we live in, people sign up for the armed forces to defend this country. They vow to protect and serve and to obey the rules and regulations set forth by the government for their offices. They do it to the death.

There is also an army of believers who sign up in the Lord’s army, vowing to give up their life in service to the Lord. The armed forces of this earth inherit a corruptible crown and the army of believers and incorruptible, if they obey and serve.

Job 36:11 says, “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”

Now, we know God has said he has come to give us life and life more abundantly.

David said, “I remain confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13

It is His good will and pleasure to give us the kingdom and good things in the earth. He desires to bless us right now. But if we are not obedient and serving the Lord, those blessings are bound up in heaven and the earth UNTIL your obedience comes in line with Him. Amen!

We have to build God’s house, a spiritual house, and serve Him in the spirit and in the physical.

If we obey and serve God, our days on this earth will be prosperous and full of pleasures. But what is obedience? Is it following every rule from the old testament? What are the rules and regulations of God’s army?

Matthew 22:37 says, “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

When they tempted Jesus and asked Him about inheriting eternal life, Jesus pointed back to what was WRITTEN in the law. The man replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Jesus said, “Do this and LIVE!” But they asked who is our neighbor? Jesus replied with the parable of the good Samaritan who was there for his neighbor when he was beaten and robbed and the Samaritan nursed him back to health, paid for his lodging, and showed the love of God to his neighbor when others who were religious has passed him by.

We have to learn to love beyond ourselves. God’s love for us is so immaculate in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Though we have sinned against God and turned our backs on Him, He remains faithful and nurses us back to health spiritually and physically when we are in need. We too have to be ready to serve God in obedience, and be ready always to meet the needs of others, and love as God loves us.

Love is the answer to all things. When we love God we will obey Him. When we love God we will serve Him and others.

John 14:21 says, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

If we desire to see God in the land of the living, we got to do like David did and get before Him daily, lift our voices to him, do what pleases the Lord, call on him in prayer, and with thanksgiving honor Him. In this we love Him and obey Him.

1 Timothy 4:8 says, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

The life that now is, is the land of the living, the life on this earth and Jesus came to give us life abundantly. So let us give to God of our selves, offering our lives a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him. Lay aside everything that is weighing us down and keeping us from pressing forward to our upward calling in Christ Jesus.

Let us be living witnesses of His divine grace, love and mercy, and favor. Let us give God the first fruits of our increase and consecrate and set aside an offering well pleasing to the Lord; not only of our time but also of our resources. Try God and see if He will not open up the heavens and pour out an overflow of blessings.

Isn’t he worthy! We do all things unto the Lord and He is faithful and His word will NOT return to Him void, it will come to pass.

It is our Father’s will to give us the good of the land. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof and no one can take you away from the love of God. Hold on to this hope and keep your trust in the Lord.

This is the season of your blessing. Now, go get it!

Walk in the Spirit,

Prophetess Deanna Mack
