30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 14

Bible Reference:

1 Timothy 4:6-11

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

…exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come…

I know it can be a lot for a mom and wife with young children to set time aside and time with God, with the many duties and responsibilities that come with motherhood and marriage, not to mention the other endeavors like business ventures, but we must seek first the kingdom of God in the midst of it all. When we do go after God first, even if its just a little bit of time at first, we will see the fruits of it in our lives because the word and prayer brings about a change in our atmosphere. Let’s let go and let God have his way today, Amen!

Let’s dig into Philippians Chapter 2 shall we.

Chapter 2:1-4 gives us instruction to be one with God’s spirit so that we can love others better than ourselves or in other words crucify our selfishness, Amen! It’s so easy to get caught up in our own agendas, but when we can take on the mind of Christ we can enhance the love in our relationships in tenderness, compassion, and humility.

In verses 5-8 we can be encouraged to become servants like Jesus became a servant, humble though equal with God. How much more should we serve others seeing that Jesus himself was a servant?

Verses 9-11 show us that there is no other name above Jesus. It is the name through which we are saved and call on for our healing, deliverance, and salvation. Halleluyah! Praise the name of the Lord!

We are told to work out our own salvation with fear because God is with us working out his purpose in us. God has a purpose for us all!

I need to hear verse 14 everyday. Do all things without complaining or grumbling and without an argument so that we are blameless! What a word! Though it seems impossible, all things are possible with Christ. We have to learn to lean on him and shut up really! This shines the light, our quietness, our contentment, our self-control, which is the fruit of the spirit or showing of the possession of the spirit of God living in us. Let’s hold firmly to the word of life! God’s word is LIFE!

Now here is the challenge! Each day you will be challenged to read a chapter in the bible and pray about it. Then read my 30 Day Challenge Post and post a comment either on my blog or Facebook with how God is using this challenge to increase your faith and spiritual growth.

30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 13

Bible Reference:

1 Timothy 4:6-11

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

…exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come…

A time to pray! WE finished yesterday talking about prayer and praying in the spirit. It seems the more kids I have the more distractions there are and the harder it is for me to focus on spiritual things, but it shouldn’t be so.
There was a time a few years ago that I was so desperate I just began to pray and cry out to God in prayer with the kids and I all holding hands and the spirit of God began to manifest through my mouth and what a relief to feel the presence of God once again. Oh how I yearn for the God’s spirit to be living and active in me! Halleluyah!
As we begin Philippians Chapter 1, we can grow in excitement to know that God is not though with us yet! Yes, we make mistakes and are far from perfected, but we are moving closer and closer to that reality through Christ Jesus. Verse 5 says, “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God is working in us as we work. What He has started He will finish.  Wait on Him!
Paul’s prayer is my prayer too! Awesome prayer!
Verses 9-11 state:
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, (we don’t desire to stay the same but progress in DEPTH OF INSIGHT!!! Why???)10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Let’s continue! In verses 12-26 we see Paul glorifying God in the midst of being held captive in prison in chains because He knows God is with him and will deliver him and through his chains God is using it to make others stronger and he continues in the faith and does not give up in the midst of adversity. We don’t have to give up! Most of us will never go through what Paul and the other disciples went through though they stood firm, believing God, and holding on to the promises. Amen!  We may go through but we GO THROUGH not looking back but looking unto Jesus!!! We live to Christ!
We, being led by the spirit of the one true God, are encouraged to conduct ourselves as children of God worthy of the gospel as it says in verse 27. And this chapter finishes by saying we will suffer, but don’t be afraid because we are saved. There is nothing that can destroy us. We are heirs of the kingdom. To live is Christ and to die is gain, and tis’ far more better I agree! If only we could get a glimpse of the things to come, Amen! But by faith we believe and press on!
Now here is the challenge! Each day you will be challenged to read a chapter in the bible and pray about it. Then read my 30 Day Challenge Post and post a comment either on my blog or Facebook with how God is using this challenge to increase your faith and spiritual growth.

30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 12

Bible Reference:

1 Timothy 4:6-11

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

…exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come…

Day 12 and feeling good feeling great! God is good and faithful. Just when the enemy tried to have me down, I kept pressing, kept on stepping forward, and God opened up the windows of heaven and began to let it pour. I am saying thanks you Lord!

Now, let’s dig in and eat some of this Ephesians 6 getting into the armor of God. Powerful stuff right here!

In the first few verses we learn about obedience and respect from all walks of life from children to slaves. We are to do good to all and not grow weary in doing. God sees us and He will reward us. Amen!

Then we get into the armor of God and how to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. The word of God is a light in that it is showing us the way to go...the way, the truth, the life…THE WORD!

If we want to stand against the devil’s plots to steal, kill, and destroy us, we need to put this armor on and get ready to fight! We have to understand that we are fighting a spiritual war. A war we cannot see unless God gives us eyes to see the spirit realm, but we are under attack in the spirit. By His spirit, we can overcome the devil and his schemes.

#1 WE need truth around our waists protecting our midsection keeping us balanced.

#2 The breastplate of righteousness protecting our hearts from evil and sin.

#3 The gospel of peace on our feet carrying the peace of Christ with us everywhere.

#4 The shield of faith keeps the devil from hitting us. We believe by faith.

#5 The helmet of salvation protects our head from being harmed because we are covered in the blood from the head to the toes.

#6 The sword of the spirit is the word of God which we use to break down the lies of the enemy and destroy spiritual death in our lives.

The last item of discussion is praying. It says here to pray in the spirit, for everyone, at all times. Lord, help us to reach this place of prayer. Lord make us a house of prayer! God is building me up and out of my belly shall flow rivers of living water. The word of life will come forth like never before. But…I first have to submit to the will of God and make the sacrifice of prayer, building up this house, and praise and worship God like never before!

Now here is the challenge! Each day you will be challenged to read a chapter in the bible and pray about it. Then read my 30 Day Challenge Post and post a comment either on my blog or Facebook with how God is using this challenge to increase your faith and spiritual growth.

30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 11

Bible Reference:

1 Timothy 4:6-11

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.

Today, stress and contention is trying to enter into my domain but what I say to that demon is YOU MUST FLEE BECAUSE AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERYTHING WILL COME INTO SUBJECTION AND BE UNDER MY FEET!!! Amen! So, let’s continue to press through the stress, through the mess, and go on in JESUS! Halleluyah! Ain’t nobody got time for that!

It’s day 11 and we are continuing to sow to the spirit and allow the word of God to permeate our minds in Christ Jesus! Amen! Ephesians 5 is our challenge today! We are trying to understand this love thing Ephesians is speaking about.

We have already seen how important it is to read and study the word of God and how it changes us and helps us to mature into Christlikeness. Now, we will begin to break into these chapters of daily reading and use the word as food and medicine, Amen!

Don’t you know love will keep you from sin! Because God is love! Ephesians 5:1-6 gives us wisdom on how to beat sin through God’s love. When we walk in the love of Christ there is no sexual sin or greed. We live a selfless life unto God because he first loved us and gave himself for us. Amen!

Goodness, righteousness, and truth…we are the light of Christ and we should live as the children of light as we begin to read in Ephesians 5:8-14. We no longer need to live to please ourselves but God. We need to wake up and be the light. Christ, the hope of glory in us, exposes the darkness around us. Light does not become darkness, get pleasure from darkness, or live in darkness. WE EXPOSE DARKNESS SAINTS OF GOD!

Ephesians 5:15-20 begins to warn us to be careful. We need the wisdom of God through God’s word and revelation. Through the revelation of God’s word we understand God’s will for our lives. Why not get drunk? Drunkenness keeps you from the light because it leads to sin, defined as seduction from virtue and duty or extreme sensuality. But instead of getting drunk, we need to be prayed up in the spirit, Amen! Being filled with the spirit with singing and speaking of thanksgiving to the Lord!

Verses 21-33 Finish up encouraging submission between husband and wife. Women are given direction as to the order of woman and man under Christ and ordered to respect the husband. Men are reminded to love the wife like Christ loves the church and to give himself for her, pick her up, encourage her through the word of God. We see here our duty and responsibility in marriage.

We need a cleansing, a fresh anointing of the holy spirit to come down and rain on us, fill us, enlighten us so we may go forth and do the Lord’s will.

Now here is the challenge! Each day you will be challenged to read a chapter in the bible and pray about it. Then read my 30 Day Challenge Post and post a comment either on my blog or Facebook with how God is using this challenge to increase your faith and spiritual growth.
