Be Strong in the Lord and The Power of His Might

Out of nowhere, one recent morning the title of this post hit me and became a chant, a beat, and a song. I was just about to open my bible and study Ecclesiastes 2:26, but the Lord led me in another direction. How many of you know that these are the most blessed times? I love when God speaks in the moment, a right now word. I know it was for me, but I share it because I also know He has purposed me to share it and encourage others with it. So be strong in the Lord and in the POWER of HIS might.

Once me and the kids chanted and sang this a while, I got excited and opened up the bible to Ephesians 6 where we find this quote:

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

First of all the battle is not ours, it is the Lord’s. That is why we must fight on our knees and in the word of God. That is what it means to be strong IN the LORD, not in ourselves because the flesh is weak, but the spirit is indeed willing. Amen!

God supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory. He meets our spiritual needs according to what we put in, providing us with a spiritual harvest and power through HIM to stand.

The things affecting us in the physical, are spiritual. We can’t see them or touch them but they are there and we feel the effects of it. Our enemy is the devil, not our neighbors. That is why God says love your neighbors yourself and love your enemies because it is not them we war against but there are “principalities…rulers of darkness…spiritual hosts of wickedness” tempting us to stumble. So we can’t fight this fight with our hands or with weapons of this earth but the battle is the Lord’s and we must fight in the spirit with the armor of God.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—“

1.      Truth around our waist. Truth protects from lies. The enemy will have you to believe a lie so you can turn from God or disobey Him. But when we have truth girded around our waist, we stand firm on the solid rock of Jesus Christ and know that the truth sets us free.

2.      Righteousness on our chest. Righteousness protects the heart. By covering our chest with the righteousness of God we can overcome evil; the lust of the eyes, the lust of flesh, AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE.

3.      We must be prepared with the gospel of peace. In this way, everyone we meet and those in our household receive the peace of God through us. Wherever our feet go, we have to be ready to give peace, love, and joy in the Holy Ghost. When we go in peace, we can go anywhere. So peace protects our feet.

4.      The bible says “ABOVE ALL…FAITH.” Without faith it is impossible to please God so FAITH is the most important spiritual tool to fight this good fight of FAITH. We need God and He fights the battles in the spiritual realm by our FATIH. By FAITH we will be able to block all the plots of the enemy against us, our children, and others. Faith protects our whole life.

5.      Salvation covers our head. By His grace the blood of Jesus is poured over us as the Passover Lamb for redemption and protection. Death no longer has the victory over us. Salvation protects our mind, and we have the mind of Christ.

6.      The word of God is our sword. Everything else protects us defensively, but the sword of the spirit is our offense and what we actually use against the enemy. We are built up a spiritual house by hearing the word of God. When the enemy comes to attack us on all sides, we can stand and speak life, the word of truth, which is the word of God.

So be strong in the Lord and His mighty strength for He is able to deliver us out of the hand of the enemy. We must put on the WHOLE armor of God and all we have to do is STAND! May God bless you with strength from on high and faith beyond measure.

Walk In The Spirit.
