Timothy 4:6-11
A
Good Servant of Jesus Christ
6 If you instruct the
brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ,
nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have
carefully followed. 7 But reject profane and old wives’
fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For
bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things,
having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a
faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to
this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in
the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of
those who believe. 11 These things command and
teach.
For
day 10 we were assigned Ephesians 4. There is some good food here so please don’t
miss it. On this post I will begin to break down some of this chapter in
Ephesians because it shows forth wisdom through the word giving us direction
for our lives. Amen!
First,
we will focus on more reasons to read the word of God through our word study
through the books of the bible.
#1
1
John 1:1
King
James Version (KJV)
1 That which
was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
#2
1
John 2:5
King
James Version (KJV)
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
#3
1
John 2:14
King
James Version (KJV)
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
#4
Revelation
12:11
King
James Version (KJV)
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
#5
Revelation
19:13
King
James Version (KJV)
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
This word study has been awesome for me! I needed to
read the word for myself and revive the spirit God has placed in me. There is definitely
a difference in my life from when I include God first in my life and when I Fit
God in where I can. The scriptures hold true when it says seek FIRST the
kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you. I am thinking
spiritual things that overflow to the natural.
If we just allow God to work in us through the word
of God, we will see a change. It is the word of God that once we begin to hear
it, it begins to work in our lives for our good and rewire our minds with a
renewing and a refreshing of the spirit in us, Amen! We need God in our lives
and it starts with His WORD! Halleluyah! Let it be living and active in our
lives that we can go forth with the power and authority of the word of God.
Ephesians 4:2-3 encourages us to be humble-humble,
patient-patient, loving, and diligent in keeping peace.
Verses 7-12 goes on to tell us about the gifts of
Christ in us and God has given us all gifts to be used for ministry and to
perfect and build up the children of God.
In verses 14 we are warned yet encouraged about
error and false doctrine.
Ephesians 4 continues to edify and encourage us to
speak truth, working love to others, no longer being ignorant and hard hearted
and with the word of God we are now enlightened of the truth of God.
Remembering what we have been taught of Christ. Letting
go of the dirty lifestyle, greed, lust, and lies, renewing the mind and walking
in newness of life in the righteousness and holiness God has created us in from
the beginning.
We see here direction for our anger and that by sun
down we need to have that together for we have the mind of Christ, the new man.
When we let anger and rage have place in our lives, we allow the devil to come
in and wreak havoc in our homes, in our marriages, in our relationships, in our
life as we know it. We will reap what we sow.
Ephesians 4 concludes with giving us an answer on
how to be: kind, tender, forgiving, because Christ Forgave us.
Let
the word of God cleanse our hearts today! He is worthy of our righteousness and
for good fruit to bear witness of the works of God in our lives and we will be
blessed, Glory to God!
