Timothy 4:6-11
A
Good Servant of Jesus Christ
6 If
you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus
Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have
carefully followed. 7 But
reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For bodily exercise
profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of
the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all
acceptance. 10 For
to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in the living God,
who is the Savior of all men, especially of those
who believe. 11 These
things command and teach.
This
is day 5 of our wonderful journey through the Word, you can find previous posts here. Walking in the spirit
takes effort, takes time, and takes diligence, but God is ever there drawing us
near. Will we draw near to him today?
How
often to I get caught up in the flesh? How easy it is to forget in our natural
mind to walk in the spirit? It’s a battle raging in our minds, but we shall
overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word, AMEN! Fits of anger, jealousy,
strife, and the like shall cease in the spirit and manifest in the flesh
through the cleansing and washing of the WORD. Let’s eat shall we!
