30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 21



Why is it so hard to walk in the spirit?

I always end my salutation with “walk in the spirit!” There is joy, love, peace, and true happiness in the spirit, not that Pharrell type happy, but why is it so hard to walk in the spirit and so easy to give in to the flesh? Another day another problem, right! It's all about the view of things, our perspective.
Are we praying enough? Are we at the Lord's table enough? You will know the tree by its fruit!

I hear "let patience have its perfect work" and what looks ugly now will be beautiful in its time! We need patience and longsuffering in the uglies. If we let patience work the end result will be perfection because God is in it. It is the fruit of the spirit. Amen!

Now its Day 21 and we are reading the short and sweet 1 Thessalonians 1. The focal point I want to point out today is verse 6:

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.

Why is it so hard to walk in the spirit?
Is it because the battle is not against flesh and blood but spiritual? These Thessalonians were being praised for receiving the word in MUCH affliction with JOY because they walked in the spirit. This spiritual warfare is real and we are dealing with wickedness in high places, so it is not easy. But with God all things are possible within His divine will. We can do all things through Christ!

As always, I write to encourage myself first and others second to hold on to Christ and walk in the spirit. Times get hard and people are not easily dealt with at all times, and dealing with our own selves can be cumbersome as well, but it is the spirit behind them and not the person that is causing us to get caught up in our feelings or the flesh. It is a war between the world of flesh and the world of spirit, two different worlds and lifestyles, even opposites.

This is why a fasting and setting apart as often as needed is necessary to continue to move forward and build up the spirit man against the flesh. When is it needs? It is needed when the going gets tough and you feel it harder and harder to submit to the spirit over the flesh.
We have to seek to crush the flesh and the desires of it because the flesh always wants more and is never satisfied. God has a better way, the way is work, but you will reap a harvest if you faint not! Amen! Let’s continue to fight and win! The harvest is ripe!

(1)  Faith comes by hearing, and  hearing by the word of God
