30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 11

1 Timothy 4:6-11 

 

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach. 

 

Today, stress and contention is trying to enter into my domain but what I say to that demon is YOU MUST FLEE BECAUSE AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERYTHING WILL COME INTO SUBJECTION AND BE UNDER MY FEET!!! Amen! So, let’s continue to press through the stress, through the mess, and go on in JESUS! Halleluyah! Ain’t nobody got time for that!

 

It’s day 11 and we are continuing to sow to the spirit and allow the word of God to permeate our minds in Christ Jesus! Amen! Ephesians 5 is our challenge today! We are trying to understand this love thing Ephesians is speaking about.

 

We have already seen how important it is to read and study the word of God and how it changes us and helps us to mature into Christlikeness. Now, we will begin to break into these chapters of daily reading and use the word as food and medicine, Amen!

 

Don’t you know love will keep you from sin! Because God is love! Ephesians 5:1-6 gives us wisdom on how to beat sin through God’s love. When we walk in the love of Christ there is no sexual sin or greed. We live a selfless life unto God because he first loved us and gave himself for us. Amen!

 

Goodness, righteousness, and truth…we are the light of Christ and we should live as the children of light as we begin to read in Ephesians 5:8-14. We no longer need to live to please ourselves but God. We need to wake up and be the light. Christ, the hope of glory in us, exposes the darkness around us. Light does not become darkness, get pleasure from darkness, or live in darkness. WE EXPOSE DARKNESS SAINTS OF GOD!

Ephesians 5:15-20 begins to warn us to be careful. We need the wisdom of God through God’s word and revelation. Through the revelation of God’s word we understand God’s will for our lives. Why not get drunk? Drunkenness keeps you from the light because it leads to sin, defined as seduction from virtue and duty or extreme sensuality. But instead of getting drunk, we need to be prayed up in the spirit, Amen! Being filled with the spirit with singing and speaking of thanksgiving to the Lord!

 

Verses 21-33 Finish up encouraging submission between husband and wife. Women are given direction as to the order of woman and man under Christ and ordered to respect the husband. Men are reminded to love the wife like Christ loves the church and to give himself for her, pick her up, encourage her through the word of God. We see here our duty and responsibility in marriage.

 

We need a cleansing, a fresh anointing of the holy spirit to come down and rain on us, fill us, enlighten us so we may go forth and do the Lord’s will.

Friends, let me leave you with this…our 30 day challenge closing:

 

(1)  Faith comes by hearing, and  hearing by the word of God

 

(2)  Without Faith it is impossible to please God

 

 (3)  Faith without works is dead
