30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge—DAY 3

Bible Reference:
1 Timothy 4:6-11
A Good Servant of Jesus Christ
6 If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. 7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach,[a] because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.
If you’re just joining in, no worries, you can find previous posts here. Join in anytime. I am enjoying seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness just by studying the reasons why God’s word is pertinent in our lives. According to yesterday’s study we learned that sanctification through God’s word is the “state of proper functioning.” To function properly according to God’s design we need the word of God, amen!

Here are 5 more reasons to dig in God’s word.

#1

Psalm 119:105

King James Version (KJV)
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Isn’t it wonderful that Jesus shines from within us? He is the word! He is the light making our paths straight, halleluyah!

#2

Psalm 119:11

New International Version (NIV)
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
God’s word helps to keep us from sin. No wonder why the devil try to keep us from reading our bibles!

#3

Isaiah 55:10-11

New International Version (NIV)
10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
God’s word is like good seed being sown into our hearts. It will do what God purposes it to do.

#4

John 1:1

New International Version (NIV)

The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Oh, how we need the WORD!

#5

John 17:17

New International Version (NIV)
17 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth.
Sanctification…the generic definition below is pretty awesome.
“The generic meaning of sanctification is "the state of proper functioning." To sanctify someone or something is to set that person or thing apart for the use intended by its designer. A pen is "sanctified" when used to write. Eyeglasses are "sanctified" when used to improve sight. In the theological sense, things are sanctified when they are used for the purpose God intends. A human being is sanctified, therefore, when he or she lives according to God's design and purpose.” ---BibleStudyTools.com

30 Day Spiritually Fit Bible Challenge

There are all kinds of challenges I see on Facebook for bodily exercise and I’ve tried a few, though never finished unfortunately. But as God began to speak to me about the importance of His words, and I began to do a word study on why we need the word of God, I thought of this challenge.

Now, for a little back ground I want to start with my word study. I am going to first give us all reason to make this 30 day bible challenge real in our lives and give us good reason to do it and finish the race. As the scripture says above, “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.  This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.”

So, let’s get started seeking God and His righteousness TODAY! See if God don’t give you an overflow of his spirit that you cannot even contain yourself. Try God in this and watch that spirit man grow strong in the Lord and the power of his might. Every day I will give you 5 reasons to dig in the word of God.

#1

Matthew 6:33

New King James Version (NKJV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

#2

Deuteronomy 8:3

King James Version (KJV)
3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.

I like that this verse gives us more than what we see in Matthew 4:4. We see in the spiritual that we can grow hungry in the spirit and going to church and reading a bible verse here and there is not enough to keep us from being hungry. But every word that comes from God keeps us alive and gives us the nourishment to live and go on. Don’t grow weary in well doing brothers and sisters! Amen!

#3

Hebrews 4:12

New International Version (NIV)
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

#4

John 15:7

New King James Version (NKJV)
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

#5

2 Samuel 22:31

New International Version (NIV)

31 “As for God, his way is perfect:
    The Lord’s word is flawless;
he shields all who take refuge in him.

All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved, Amen! But how can we call if we do not know who to call or what to call on Him for? If we do no hear God’s word, how can we know who He is?

Romans 10:14

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?

Now, here is the challenge! Each day you will be challenged to read a chapter in the bible and pray about it. Then read my 30 Day Challenge Post and post a comment either on my blog or Facebook with how God is using this challenge to increase your faith and spiritual growth.

E.N.D.U.R.E

Verse of the day:
Hebrews 12:2-3
King James Version (KJV)
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

As I was in church this Sunday and the pastor was preaching about Jesus and how he endured all the beating, mocking, slapping, punching, and the list goes on…to the point that up on the cross he was no longer recognizable as the Jesus they knew:

Isaiah 52:14

New International Version (NIV)

“Just as there were many who were appalled at him— his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness—“
I began to meditate on endure.
I had already had a bad morning, tired of house mom duties that never seem to get done. Every time I would clean up, in no time it was back a mess and no one wanted to help mama. But as I sat in church service I heard the Lord say “endure.” Then all these scriptures began to manifest in my mind and as the preacher was preaching I was getting revelation from the holy ghost about enduring and encouraging others in the same. Encouraging others in the Lord being the purpose of the gift of God in me in music. Epiphany!
So I began to hunt for this word “endure” in the concordance and found these scriptures:

2 Timothy 2:3

King James Version (KJV)
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

Hebrews 12:7

New International Version (NIV)
“Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?”

Revelation 3:10

Amplified Bible (AMP)
“Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance [have held fast the lesson of My patience with the expectant endurance that I give you], I also will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.”

Romans 15:5

New International Version (NIV)
“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had”

2 Corinthians 1:6

New International Version (NIV)
“If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.”

Colossians 1:11

New International Version (NIV)
“Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience”

1 Timothy 6:11

New International Version (NIV)

Final Charge to Timothy

“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.”

James 1:12

King James Version (KJV)
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

James 5:11

King James Version (KJV)
“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”

1 Peter 2:19

King James Version (KJV)
“For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.”

1 Corinthians 13:7

Amplified Bible (AMP)
“Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].”

2 Thessalonians 1:4

King James Version (KJV)
“So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:”

2 Timothy 2:10

King James Version (KJV)
“Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”

2 Timothy 4:3

King James Version (KJV)
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”

2 Timothy 4:5

King James Version (KJV)
“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

Hebrews 6:15

King James Version (KJV)
“And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”

Our pastor also mentioned “Do what you can now, while you still have time to do!”
Galatians 6:9
King James Version (KJV)
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

There is a harvest of good fruit waiting for us all to redeem but we must put on the armor of God and endure. We shall reap if we do not faint. Press on, keep on, do it all as unto the Lord. He is worthy! Amen!

No matter what I go through, I have an awesome Savior who went through much much, more for me. Endure!
Friends or foes can betray me. Endure!
He never said a mumbling word. Endure!
Feeling stressed out! Endure!
His strength and power is glorious! Endure!
By his stripes we are healed! Endure!
By His spirit! Endure!
Pursue God! Endure!
Our reward is waiting! Endure!
You are a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. Endure!
God loves those he disciplines. Endure!
The Lord will keep your mind in perfect peace as you focus on Him. Endure!
Our God is full of mercy! Endure!
We shall suffer for righteousness sake! Endure!
Loves endures all things! Endure!
Storms will come. Endure!
Those who are unsaved are watching! Endure!
You can do all things through Christ who will give you strength! Amen!

Let Him Upgrade You

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Isn’t it time for an upgrade ladies?

I remember the days of selling myself short for a dime or for nothing at all in the name of love and in the name of destruction. That was all I was really doing is destroying myself worth, giving away my pearls casting them before swine and living without dignity and value for myself.

God wants to upgrade you to a man after His heart. No longer do you need to chase a man ladies, your man will find you. The problem is some of us have an addiction to the wrong man, let’s call it “Mr. No Good syndrome.” Yes, I had that nasty syndrome too. This man tells you everything you want to hear but is sneaky and conniving and behind your back he’s playing you like a puppet master. He does not value the beauty God has placed inside of you. You are worth more than rubies, diamonds, and pearls, yet he wants to plunder your goods and does not want to pay the cost. What happen to “put a ring on it?”

Watch out for Mr. No Good up to no good and you’re with him just because you like them ‘hood.’ ‘Hood’ been played out! It’s time to upgrade to a man with class that will escalate your self-worth and fly you in first class. You do the math. It doesn’t have to be about the money because really it’s what’s on the inside that is of more value that will carry you much further, for richer or for poorer, but that doesn’t mean settle for any Tom, Dick, or Harry. God has a standard so let’s start with a clean slate. A man with God’s goals and dreams that include a beautiful queen but first and foremost does he follow the KING? If he follows the KING, then the rest will fold in like a domino effect, one blessing after another.

God told me to keep digging and the gold I would soon find. A few months later there was my husband, Carmine. The package wasn’t pretty but the prize on the inside was bountiful. His dream included a queen and she looked just like me. We united as one and God multiplied everything we had times 3. God brought me from accepting what came after me to requiring a standard in man because I am worth more than a man who can’t find time to buy a wedding band and can’t remain faithful and keep his wood in his pants unless I unleash it.

Let’s face it! How many men have we enabled to be a ladies man? We have to stop selling ourselves short and giving up the goods for free. It should cost them a ring and a whole life of hard work and labor. You are worth that much and more! When you begin to value yourself more, then men will have to step their game up to win the prize they have in you.

Every woman wants love. Being hurt time and time again isn’t love, it’s love spelled backwards evol. We were made to be loved, feel love, and live love. But where is love we ask? Keep digging and you will find? Sift through the wheat and at the bottom, that which remains is the one that God has in store for you. The one who will be there in good times and bad times, sickness and health, until death do you part, the only one worthy to have your heart.

Ladies, it’s time to step your game up and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and THEN you will find the one God has planned for you. You want a Boaz, you gotta be a Ruth. Ruth was patient, willing and obedient, submissive to God, and beautiful from within. She displayed herself before a king and won his heart through quietness and truth. She didn’t have to take her clothes off or drop it like it’s hot or twerk for him. She didn’t have to let him “test drive” the goods. She didn’t have to become something she was not. Ruth simply displayed her heart from the inside out. She didn’t have to give him anything but he gave her everything.

God has a plan for you. Seek him and you will find it! Now just change your outlook and look within. Your Boaz is waiting for you Ruth! Let your king crown you and give you the love that you deserve.

Walk in the Spirit,

Prophetess Deanna Mack
