A Holy Seed

But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps when they are cut down,
so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” Isaiah 6:13

As I prepare to minister at this upcoming youth event, today I am reminded of the "holy seed."

Raising children is not an easy feat, but with God we can still have a "holy seed." What is a "holy seed" though?
Holy means this, "exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness." There is only one good and that is God. He alone is Holy! We can be holy through the lamb of God who washed away our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. He takes filthy rags and makes them brand new again, Amen! And we can show our kids the truth from the beginning and raise them up in this way that they will be that remnant, that "holy seed."

Kids are off the chain today! Who do we blame? Society, the kids, the parents, the schools, the government...who? God is in control, but we as parents need to step up and be the example for these kids. They need to know there is hope when it looks like there is none. They need to know there is a way out. They need to know there is a savior and a God who loves them and wants the best for them. They need to know the love of Christ!

Through the love of God, we can minister to these children and show them that a life set apart from ungodliness is life eternal. There is a reward now and later and forever. The luxuries earned in this life are nothing but grass ready to turn brown in the winter and die. Luxuries without God do not last. Our treasure is in heaven and with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Our kids need to know that this is the reason we live, to God and for God!

Pray for your city kids, pray for their parents, pray for healing and deliverance, pray for an uprising of a "holy seed!" Amen!

Appreciate The Little Things

It's easy to encourage others before the storm but who encourages you during your storms?

This is usually the order of events...God ministers about a subject to equip you for the trial, the trial comes, and you think back on how well you used your equipment, right?!?

Well, I had a situation the other day which required me to look back at my previous post. I was encouraging others "Don't let the devil get you down!" Then here comes the devil...

My daughter fell Ill for a few days off and on and then the last time the fever hit, it stayed and went through the roof. So we took multiple measures to safely bring it down, but it shook me a bit. I found myself thinking how can I smile when my baby can't smile. It hurts a momma to see her baby like that.

During this time I began to reflect on ' the little things ' like her eating and feeding herself, her smile, her eyes wide open, her playfulness, and so on. All of a sudden I missed those ' little things'.
But glory to God... she rose again! Joy came and it didn't take all the way til morning, Amen! The Lord delivered my baby from that ugly fever praise God and today I'm just reflecting on those ' little things ' we sometimes take for granted.

Weeping is only temporary, but joy will come! His burden is easy, His yoke is light! He may not answer the way you see fit, but know He is there and His plan and timing is perfect.

Don't Let The Devil Get You Down!

I want to talk today about smiling in the midst of adversity. How can we continue to smile in the midst of troubles?

Troubles will come. That is guaranteed for any one of us. How we handle the fire speaks volumes about our maturity and character. We need to be equipped with the Holy Spirit at all times to have help when the trials come, because they will come. Why do they come some may ask?

James 1:2-4 (NKJV)

Profiting from Trials

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

1 Peter 1:6-9 (NIV)

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your soul

So, there is great profit in the end if we just keep looking to Jesus and keep smiling! Amen! Don't let the devil have that victory over you, have faith, and press in Him! Your enemy seeks to devour you and shake you, but you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus!

Think like Jesus & Watch Your Mouth!
1 Peter 2:22 (KJV)22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Don't fight back fire with fire.  Jesus was tempted in the wilderness and fought the devil with the word. For every evil Jesus had a word. We need to have the word of God hidden in our hearts, the sword of the spirit, to fight this war!
For the weapons of warfare are mighty in God for bringing down strongholds. In god is our strength. When we are tempted, we need to think like Jesus.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV)
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

 Proverbs 15:1 (NKJV)
15 A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger.

There is great joy in the spirit! Amen! We are urged to walk in the spirit because the spirit gives us life and life more abundantly in Christ. It's a daily choice we must make for our own peace sake and that of others. May you be encouraged to walk in Him today and through every trial in Jesus' name!

The Mind of Filthy Lucre

The Vine and the Branches
John 15:1-8
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Our topic for today is "Filthy Lucre." Why try to gain the whole world and lose your soul?

I get so anxious in my preschool business some times that I don't want to turn anyone away. I find myself saying yes to clients that don't fit the scheme of my services because I get too excited about filling the spots and the money I can make.

God reminds me to be careful of how I handle the people in my business, be anxious for nothing, but pray about everything. A lot of times we can get caught up in the income potential and forget our first love. As a child of God, called to send God's word to the people, my work and ministry must flow together and be balanced. First things first is the kingdom of God and then the other things follow.

I shouldn't be so concerned about money that I will accept any client just like people should not take any kind of job just because they need money. The blessings will come through our obedience, Amen!

Money can never have the upper hand because it is the root of all evil. Greed can't wait to sift you like wheat until you are consumed with the lust of money. Our adrennaline has to stop pumping for money and start pumping more for God! Amen!

Jesus overturned tables in the temple over filthy lucre. Don't we know we are the temple of God?

We should be running to Him first before runnning to the next dollar. Am I seeking His face on this diligently?

Chronicles 7:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Psalm 27:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.

The mind of filthy lucre is a mind that focuses on the material first and then the spiritual. Its time to put on our flip flops and reverse this way of thinking.

Matthew 6:33 New International Version (NIV)
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

When we put God first, not only do we have His favor but we have a righteous order of all things. God puts in order all things when we are in His will and follow Him.

It's a battle, but we can do all things through Christ! Apart from Christ we can do nothing! It's time for a pruning so we can bear MUCH fruit! Put "Filthy Lucre" in its place...under your feet! Money does grow on trees. A tree of righteousness bears much fruit...Christ First! Amen!
