God’s Unfailing Love

Psalm 52:8 (NIV)

But I am like an olive tree
    flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
    for ever and ever.”

There’s no doubt God is a lover of our souls. His love never fails and it consumes my very being. When I think about His goodness and all He’s done for me, I can testify firs hand of His unfailing love of this lost sheep. Several times I strayed like a cat that’s lost its home, but my Father never left me nor forsook me, He even searched for me until He found me…

Luke 15:3-7 (NIV)

Then Jesus told them this parable:  ‘Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?  And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

My God! Isn’t He just simply marvelous? He Lord came and found me when I was in the darkness and not only did He bring me to the light, but He put that light inside of me so that I could shine in Him. Awesome! Isn’t it amazing to know that God seeks after his lost sheep. He will come where you are to bring you back home.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God’s unfailing love for us is longsuffering. Imagine the celebrations in heaven over the sinners who repent and come to the Lord. I can only imagine. What a great love we have in Jesus! Amen! Thank God for His amazing grace!

Walk in the Spirit,
